Asa 11 months old!! July 2009
It's hard to imagine Asa is already 11 months old! He's so busy these days crawling and cruising around the house. He's getting used to crawling outside, but tends to bear crawl in order to avoid the grass! :) It's not easy to capture a picture of this moving little guy. So, I got an early birthday present from Eric-a new camera. :) It's been so helpful to keep up with our busy little boy! He says "Mommy", "Daddy", Dog, No is Ninnna, and he signs when he is finished eating. It's amazing how much he understands now..... He's still very happy, but is exerting his will more now. For instance, our big battle these days is keeping him out of the dog food, entertainment center and the fireplace screen. I can hardly believe where time has gone. He now has two teeth, and is working on his upper teeth this week. Asa is a great eater!! He comes by this naturally. :) He'll eat almost anything- loves blueberries, strawberries, grilled chicken, peaches, peas, cheese, and especially, WATERMELON. He can't get enough of watermelon! :) Eric and I feel amazed everyday how much he is learning, and how much we love him more and more everyday!

Trip to The Cabin May 09
Over Memorial Day, we went to the cabin to spend time together. It was so fun to see Asa take in all the sights and sounds of the woods and Illinois River. He's so observant now! He cruises around and crawls as fast as you can imagine. :) Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed getting to show Asa the Illinois River!

April's trip to the Beach to visit Eric's extended family
We had a great time visiting family in Florida and Georgia. We were able to see Eric's aunts and uncles, cousins and second cousins. It was fun!! Asa was a great little traveler, and we had a great time at the beach too! Asa and I went with Mame', Aunt Miriam, Cousin Maggie and Cousin William. Wish Eric could have come! Maybe next time! :)

Family Pictures with The Bartlows and The Stephens
In January and March, we had pictures made with our families including Grandma and Grandpa Stephens, Uncle Chris, Mame', Papa, Uncle Rob, Aunt Miriam, Cousin Maggie and new baby cousin William. We were excited to welcome cousin William into our family in January with Uncle Rob here as well. He is now in Afghanistan serving with the AirForce as a Major. We are proud of him, and thankful for his service. Aunt Miriam, Cousin Maggie and Cousin William will be here until August, then return to Guam where they are stationed. Our families are so wonderful, and we are thankful for them! They make sure Asa is more than loved! :)

Asa turns 6months!!
It's hard to believe how fast Asa is growing and changing!!! He is up on all fours, getting ready to crawl. He squeals and laughs so loud it makes your heart hurt! :) I love giving him baths at night. He loves the water. He eats veggies and fruits, but prefers cereal hands down. Asa enjoys the dogs most of all. He thinks Amos and Ezra are just lots of fun!

Asa eats Veggies for the first time- YUM, YUM!!!
Asa loved eating his veggies! We started with squash this week, and he absolutely was covered in it. Then, Eric fed him cereal, which he wasn't as excited about. So, Eric let him put his face and fingers into the bowl! He devoured the entire bowl of cereal this way!! I think we'll have to teach him better table manners in the future, but it sure was cute to see him having fun with his Daddy! :) I love my two boys!!

It amazes us how quickly Asa grows in his skills, including rolling over and over and over..... He is such a squealy little drooly baby at the moment, and enjoys his baths more than ever! Asa also is thoroughly enjoying eating cereal. He really gets into it!! :) Usually, requiring a bath after meal time! Here are a few more pics to update.

Thanksgiving with the Bartlows
We had Thanksgiving with the Bartlows on Wednesday this year. Aunt Miriam and Cousin Maggie are here this year, which was so fun! The kids get along well, and Asa thinks Maggie is so entertaining to watch. We went to see Santa that evening at Bass Pro Shops. It was a great day, and we enjoyed each oher's company. We look forward to Uncle Rob and new baby cousin William coming in January!

Asa and Eric Dec 4, 2008
Eric and I love to just come home and hang out together as a family with our little Asa. He now stays with my dad on Mondays/Tuesdays and Eric's mom on Thurs/Fri. Wednesdays are the day that Asa and I spend together and weekends are all together as a family. I miss him while I'm at work, and probably call our parents at least 3 times a day to check on him. Thankfully, they don't seem to mind me bugging them all day long! :) I've enjoyed getting back to work seeing my little pediatric patients, and it makes me appreciate my little family even more.
Asa has become quite a little giggly, squealing little critter these days! I need to post a video of him soon. The other night, Eric let him taste his sugar free orange popsickle, and Asa seemed to love it! Asa's favorite thing is being naked on the changing table, his new exercise toy at my mom and dad's, and flying around like an airplane. Here are a few pictures of him lately. Hope you enjoy!

Aunt Miriam and Cousin Maggie
Aunt Miriam and Cousin Maggie are here from Guam until the birth of our new nephew William Robert Bartlow. Aunt Miriam has been sent home due to her being a carrier for hemophilia. Baby William has a 50/50 chance of being a hemophiliac, and his care here at OU will be the best in case he needs any special care. We are sad that Uncle Rob could not come to stay a while too, but we are happy to see Cousin Maggie and Aunt Miriam.
On Oct24th, we all went to the Affair of the Heart with Mame. It was fun to spend the morning together. Here are few pics of that day. Cousin Maggie is really good with Asa, and calls him "baby Asa". I think she'll be a great big sis'.
